This terrace of houses formerly known as Merrion Parade is located within the constraint area for a church and graveyard listed on the RMP (DU023-053001 and -002). Ground reduction within the existing structures and the excavation of underpinning trenches adjacent to the façade was monitored. The excavated ground comprised post-medieval fill overlying sand and subsoil. A 1.5m-long stretch of east-west red brick wall foundation uncovered in one of the underpinning trenches is probably part of a boundary wall between the terrace buildings. Further works are scheduled in 2013.
