2012:207 - DUBLIN: 36 Gardiner Street Lower, Dublin

Monitoring of the removal of the floor surface in the 19^th-century rear basement at 36 Gardiner Street Lower and the excavation of a number of foundation pads confirmed that the construction of the basement had reduced the ground levels down into the sterile, natural riverine gravels. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during monitoring at this site and this result correlates with the outcome of other archaeological investigations at neighbouring basemented properties in the Gardiner Street area.
