Monitoring and excavation have taken place on this site intermittently since 2010; as the quarry continues to extend new areas are monitored. The 2012 phase of works involved the continuation of phased ongoing removal of peat ranging in depth from 1m to 3.5m to expose the sand and gravel. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
