Monitoring of primary ground reduction works associated with the development of the site of the existing North West Independent Hospital at Main Street, Ballykelly (Drummond townland), was undertaken during May – June 2011. This main phase of works follows a previous phase of monitoring of works associated with the construction of a temporary car park during June and July 2009 within the north-east corner of the proposed development area (Excavations 2009, No. 177, AE/09/109). No archaeological features or deposits were identified during this phase of monitoring works at the site.
Editor’s note: Although excavated during 2011, the report on this site arrived too late for inclusion in the bulletin of that year.
