Monitoring was carried out at the site from 29 March to 18 April, 2012, ahead of the development of a 2.5ha site. There were no upstanding remains on the site, the nearest being two fulachta fiadh (CO014-092 and CO014-093) to the east and north-east. A substantial area, 47m x 30m, was identified as a burnt spread, beneath 0.14-0.6m of topsoil.

The area was divided by recent agricultural drains but at least four separate burnt spreads, and possibly as many as seven, were identified. One hearth was located at the north-west and another possible hearth at the south-west. Two possible troughs and a potential post-hole were also identified and the spreads were interspersed with redeposited natural clays (probable up-cast). It was therefore surmised, following the monitoring phase, that this site was a large complex of fulachta fiadh. The subsequent excavation of these features was carried out by IAC Ltd (see Excavations 2012 No. 120).
