Monitoring of enabling works associated with a new Medical Assessment Unit and Endoscopy Unit at Mallow General Hospital, which is the site of the Union workhouse, was carried out over a number of weeks in February 2012. The excavation of service trenches was monitored during which time no features directly associated with the recorded monument were uncovered. No human remains were encountered. Monitoring of the ground works for the new units was carried out in August and October 2012. No archaeological finds or features were uncovered
