In September 2012, a geophysical earth resistance survey was carried out over an area of approximately 0.6ha immediately west of Dunluce Castle’s landward buildings, on behalf of Televisionary Ltd. The surveyed area is known as the ‘Castle Gardens’ and the investigation confirmed the presence of walled and terraced garden features, which may also be observed from aerial photographs of the site. No further features of interest were detected. It had been anticipated that excavations would follow-on from the survey but as no additional features were detected, no further investigations were undertaken.
