An archaeological evaluation was carried out on behalf of Spamount Pre-cast Concrete and Readymix Ltd on the site of a proposed quarry development in the townlands of Killeen and Brocklis, Ardstraw.
Nineteen test trenches were excavated in two fields, comprising a total of 679 linear metres of trenching. No features of archaeological significance were identified during the course of test-trenching. A number of linear features identified were deemed to be typical of post-medieval agricultural activity.
