Testing was undertaken in December 2011 on behalf of North Tipperary County Council at the site of a proposed reservoir in the townland of Drumbane, Ballina, in advance of the Newport Regional Water Supply Scheme. Two trenches were excavated across the test area but nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
