Monitoring was undertaken of the renovation of a derelict single-storey house and the building of a small extension to its rear. The works required Ministerial Consent owing to the proximity of the town wall. The gable wall of the house was only 0.3m from the town wall, which survives at this location to a height in excess of 2m.

Excavations for the small extension to the rear were kept to a minimum and proved negative regarding archaeological deposits/remains. A service trench was excavated from the rear of the property, through the existing house and exiting to the public street, the Green. Nothing of archaeological provenance was found within the excavated trench.
