Pre-construction testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed house. The site is within the constraint area of Ballynamoe Castle (in ruins).
In the five test trenches opened no archaeological features/remains were uncovered. In two trenches two pockets or spreads of gravelly sandy clay were found within the natural deposition. Both pockets were similar to the material extracted from the now-disused gravel quarry to the west of the site. A short linear feature was found in one opening, which proved to be part of root system from a tree located close by.
