Monitoring of groundworks took place for a proposed 26km-long 110KV ESB line in County Meath. The line will be erected over or in the vicinity of the townlands of Meath Hill, Mullaghmore, Rathlogan, Drumgill, Hennigan, Kilbride, Stephenstown, Painestown, Yellowleas, Kilberry, Rathcoon, Castletown Kilberry, Hennigan, Ladyrath, Coghalstown, Chamberstown and Scottstown. All groundworks for pylons were monitored, along with pole-sets within specific areas identified as archaeologically sensitive in the EIS. The line passed within 100m of ME003-006 (Rectangular Enclosure site) and ME006-030 (Enclosure site). These were not affected by pylons or pole-sets and nothing of archaeological significance was found within the vicinity of these monuments or in any other part of the monitoring.
