Testing was undertaken in Castletown Tara to inform a Further Information Request by Meath County Council. The development was for a private house and garage and related services and access. The site is located c. 1.5km north-west of the Hill of Tara. Test trenches were excavated to sample a portion (amounting to 13%) of the site to ascertain whether any features of archaeological nature were present. No features or finds of archaeological significance were exposed during test excavations.
