The licence to monitor the Ballina Regional Water Supply Scheme was extended into April 2011. Prehistoric and early medieval monuments are known from the area, and the scheme also ran through demesne land formerly belonging to Deel Castle. New pipelines were laid in both green fields and secondary roads c. 4km south-west of Ballina. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
