Thirty-four test trenches ranging from 9m to 150m long were cut in a large area of ground where there are plans to construct 21 dwelling houses. There is no known archaeology at or near the site but testing arose from the large scale of the development. The western sector of the site had had its topsoil stripped some time ago and redeposited gravel or stone covered this ground. Elsewhere topsoil clay was brown or grey and overlay stony grey gravel, or a marl base which was orange, pale or yellow. All items recovered were modern. Archaeology did not become evident from any sector tested.
