An assessment took place of a proposed single-house development within 60m of a probable ringfort. This was recorded by Sweetman in the Archaeological Inventory of County Laois as ‘a circular enclosure visible on aerial photograph (BKS, 601465). A slight rise in the ground surface indicates the site. No other visible surface traces.’ The monument measured 47m in diameter and was defined by a c. 5m-wide fosse that runs outside a 5–7m-wide earthwork bank. A possible entrance gap was visible in the south. Test excavations failed to uncover anything of archaeological interest, as did follow-up monitoring.
