Monitoring of groundworks associated with the construction of a wind farm at Ballymartin was carried out in compliance with a condition of planning permission. Monitoring of site investigation trial pits and topsoil removal in the area of the site compound was undertaken in November and December 2010 (Excavations 2010, no. 410). No archaeological finds or features were uncovered. Further monitoring of topsoil removal associated with the construction of the wind farm took place under this licence between January and March 2011. No finds or features were uncovered during the construction phase of the project.
