In 2005 Barrow Archaeological Services submitted an Archaeological Impact Assessment as part of the preparation for an Environmental Impact Statement for a proposed development of a caravan park facility at Banna Mountain, Ardfert. In December 2010 the developers received a request for further information on the planning application for pre-development testing owing to the large scale of the proposed development. In April 2011 nine extensive trenches were excavated across the development site. No potential archaeological features or artefacts were recorded during testing.
