Testing undertaken along the route of the N86 Annascaul–Gortbreagoge Road Improvement Scheme revealed the remains of a circular gully, initially thought to be a ring-ditch. On subsequent excavation the gully was found to enclose a ring of post-holes. Taken together, these appear to represent the remains of a circular house, c. 12m in external diameter. A sample of charcoal collected from one of the post-holes has been dated to 358–57 cal. BC (SUERC 38037, 2150±35 BP).
