Testing was carried out here as part of the upgrading of the existing Baile an Fheirtéaraigh Water Supply Scheme. Pre-testing assessment confirmed that the spring well, listed in the RMP as KE042-087, was in fact the water intake for the water supply scheme and had been encased in concrete in the past. Testing of the surrounding area, proposed for new filtration units and a control building, was negative, with no archaeological features or strata being encountered.
