An archaeological evaluation was carried out in November 2011 as part of the planning conditions attached to a proposal to construct a single dwelling and garage. There were no SMR sites identified within the application area boundaries, but several sites lay within the wider study area: a cross shaft and base (FER210-037), a souterrain (FER210-057) and a cashel (FER210-038), all indicative of Early Christian activity within the area. The driveway, septic tank and garage were monitored but no archaeological remains were uncovered.
