Monitoring of works on a residential development was carried out in compliance with planning conditions. The development was located to the south of a possible barrow (DU012-061) that was illustrated on the 1st-edition OS map but has since been reclassified as a redundant record. The soil profile comprised topsoil overlying grey alluvium and subsoil. Several north–south-aligned furrows dating from the post-medieval period were evident at the northern end of the site in what would have been the rear garden of the house that previously occupied the site. No archaeological features or finds were identified but a series of modern stone drains ran across the site, indicating that drainage works had been carried out in the area in the recent past.
