This development relates to the construction of a 1.6m-long access road, part of the Thornton Hall Project, in Killsallaghan Townland, Fingal, Co. Dublin. The route of the access road runs close to the site of a well-preserved ringfort (DU011-008).
Monitoring of groundworks associated with the development of the access road took place intermittently between 16 September 2010 and 17 February 2011. There was evidence of agricultural activity and land drainage works dating from the 19th century onwards but nothing of archaeological interest was found during the course of these groundworks.
