Two areas were stripped; the first was a wedge 250m long, 40m wide to the west and 30m wide to the east, while the second was approximately 80m long by 30m wide. The areas were covered by an overburden of peat, which varied in depth from 0.5m to 3.5m. No archaeological material was encountered during this process.
