An assessment was undertaken at Coolafinny, Eglinton, adjacent to the find-spot of a bronze axe listed on the SMR and in proximity to the Planter village of Eglinton. Seven test trenches with a combined length of 807 linear metres were opened across the site. These were mechanically excavated to subsoil at locations agreed with the NIEA. No archaeological finds or features were identified during this assessment.
