The site is located at Wattstown Industrial Estate, Coleraine, Co. Derry. The proposed development concerns the provision of a carriageway, verges, footpaths and associated services, including telecommunications, street lighting, and foul, storm and road drainage systems.
The site lies within an archaeologically sensitive area, with three recorded sites within a 1km radius and a further five just outside this radius. Given the potential of archaeology on the proposed development site, the removal of topsoil to glacial subsoil was monitored. Apart from furrows and field drains, no deposits of archaeological potential were uncovered.
