The proposed development is located at No. 99 Forkhill Road near Newry and concerns the construction of a detached dwelling within the south-west corner of the site, with associated drainage and services. There are eleven recorded archaeological sites within a 1km radius of the proposed development site, three of which were in close proximity to it. Three test trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed dwelling on 8 April 2011. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
