An archaeological evaluation was carried out at a site in the townland of Dorsey, Silverbridge, as part of the planning application for a replacement dwelling. The application site lies approximately 200m to the south of the Iron Age earthwork known as ‘the Dorsey’ and is within the designated Dorsey ASAI. Five trenches, with a total area of approximately 196m2, were mechanically excavated for the evaluation. No material or artefacts of archaeological significance were retrieved during the excavation.
