Test trenching was carried out at the site of proposed residential development at 42–52 Cennick Road, Gracehill, in response to conditions imposed by the NIEA:HMU. A series of 2m-wide test trenches set at 5m intervals were excavated in advance of construction works at the site. Excavation of these trenches revealed subsoil directly below a 0.2–0.3m-deep topsoil. No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of these works.
