Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was carried out in advance of a proposed quarry extension at Demesne Quarry, Glenarm, in response to conditions imposed upon the site by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency: Historic Monuments. An area approximately 150m x 90m in extent was stripped of topsoil, with the resulting identification of a subsoil-cut pit in the centre of the stripped area and the terminal end of an enclosure ditch extending beyond the western boundary of the stripped area. Prehistoric pottery of similar fabric and construction were recovered from both of these features, suggesting a contemporaneous date.
