Toom 6 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was situated in sloping pasture.
Excavations revealed twelve pits, seven post-holes and a linear feature, as well as agricultural and root activity.
A concentration of activity was identified at the north-western end of the site, which contained a cluster of seven pits and six post-holes. The pits were sub-oval in plan, averaging 1m by 0.5m and 0.1m deep. No obvious functions for these features were determined. Six post-holes, three of which formed a north to south alignment, may have formed part of a structure. The post-holes were on average 0.2m in diameter and 0.22m deep.
At the eastern end of the site, four pits and one post-hole were identified. The pits were roughly circular in plan, the largest measuring 1.4m in diameter and 0.42m deep.
Linear features such as plough furrows traversed the site in a north to south orientation. A large number of tree holes were also recorded which seem to indicate field clearance and enlargement.
Finds from Toom 6 were recovered mainly from the topsoil and included four pieces of flint, four sherds of pottery and a whetstone.
