Templescoby 1 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was situated in a field surrounded by the road and bushes from north to east.
The remains of a vernacular structure were identified, consisting of the lower courses of four walls. The structure was aligned north-east to south-west.
The north-western wall foundation comprised cut natural slate bedrock. None of the superstructure was intact but large uncut pieces of limestone and occasional red bricks were identified in a deposit of possible wall collapse. Evidence of an internal lime mortar render was recorded. The south-western wall consisted of random rubble, large irregular limestone and cut natural slate. A similar lime-mortar render was evident on its internal face.
The south-eastern wall of the structure comprised random irregular limestone rubble, slate and red brick. A break within the length of the wall indicated the possible entrance to the building and a cobbled surface was recorded in this area. A slight kink was recorded along the length of the north-eastern wall which comprised large random irregular limestone rubble and slate. The house was divided in the middle by a random rubble and limestone internal wall which was orientated north-west to south-east and was built directly on the bedrock. Several post-medieval items, including glass, ceramic and fragments of a porcelain doll, were recovered.
