Knockavocka 1 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was situated in a mixed tillage and pasture field.
A number of deposits were recorded in natural depressions. The deposits consisted of loose and moderately compact grey, brown and orange silty clays and sandy silts with charcoal, stone and pebble inclusions. One possible interpretation of these deposits is that they represent burning episodes related to relatively recent land-clearance activity.
