Monitoring of groundworks associated with the construction of a single dwelling-house was undertaken at a previously undeveloped site situated immediately west of the large monastic enclosure at Great Island, WX039–018.
The monitored groundworks included the removal of topsoil and other overburden from the site of the house and its associated driveway and services. No archaeological features or deposits were uncovered during the monitoring of groundworks.
