Kilcannon 3 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was located in a large wheat field sloping gradually from south to north.
Kilcannon 3 consisted of two small adjacent pits, one circular with frequent slag inclusions and one oval. The circular pit, measuring 0.38m in diameter, had a shallow concave profile reaching a maximum depth of 0.07m. This pit produced a high quantity of slag. The sub-oval pit, which measured 0.5m by 0.4m, was also shallow with steep sides, measuring 0.3m deep.
