The site was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. Dunsinane 4 was sited in a field of pasture with 0.5m of topsoil cover.
A large number of features were scattered across a 35m by 25m area. These included a sub-oval hearth which had an irregular base, measured 0.65m by 0.48m and was 0.16m deep. This pit contained grey/brown silty sand with frequent amounts of charcoal and burnt bones. Three stake-holes were identified on the northern side of the base and there was evidence of in situ burning. To the south-west was a second irregular possible hearth, which measured 2.1m by 0.68–1.28m and was 0.6m deep with a fill that contained occasional charcoal flecks and burnt bones.
Additional features on-site included fifteen pits, ten post-holes and seven stake-holes. No finds were recovered during the excavation. It is likely that the site represents some form of prehistoric domestic activity.
