Cooladine 2 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was located atop a hill in a field which slopes sharply to the north and to the west.
A sub-oval-shaped hearth measuring 2.1m by 1.4m was located close to the western limit of excavation. The hearth, which was defined by in situ burning identified at its north-western edge, contained stone lining and charcoal-rich material.
Three pits were identified at the southern part of the site. A piece of flint was recovered from a pit which was circular in plan measuring 0.7m diameter, with vertical sides and a flat base, reaching a maximum depth of 0.18m. Prehistoric pottery was recovered from the soft brown sandy fill of an oval-shaped pit which measured 3.7m by 1.44m and 0.2m deep.
A series of linear plough furrows traversed the site in a north-east to south-west orientation, indicating post-medieval agricultural activity.
