Excavations at Camlin 7 were undertaken on behalf of Wexford County Council as part of the Stage (iii) archaeological services contract prior to the commencement of construction of the N25 New Ross bypass road scheme.
Excavation at Camlin 7 revealed a subcircular charcoal-production pit. This measured 1.8m in length (east–west), 1.7m in width and 0.28m in depth. Its fills comprised sandy and clayey silts that contained occasional to frequent charcoal inclusions.
A post-medieval field boundary and drainage ditch were also identified in the southern part of Camlin 7.
