Ballynabarny 1 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was situated in a grassland field surrounded by bushes and trees on the northern and eastern boundaries.

An oval pit measuring 0.7m by 0.6m was 0.3m deep, contained two fills and had a flat base and steep sides. The upper fill was loose dark black/brown silty clay which contained a moderate amount of charcoal. Several sherds of possible Beaker pottery were found in this upper fill. The basal fill of this feature was loose fine light-yellow/brown silty clay which contained additional sherds of possible Beaker pottery. Approximately 76 pieces of prehistoric pottery in total (possibly Beaker ware) were uncovered from the pit.
