Ballygullen 2 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site consisted of two pits, a stake-hole and a ditch.
The first pit was subcircular, measuring 1.3m in length, 1.2m in width and 0.59m in depth, and had stepped sides and a concave base. The pit contained a single fill of loose mid-brown sandy clay. This pit was truncated by a ditch at its eastern side.
The second pit was oval, measured 0.56m west to east by 0.38m and was 0.23m deep with a concave base and vertical sides. This pit was filled with soft mid-brown/grey silty clayey sand.
The stake-hole had a diameter of 0.13m and a depth of 0.32m and was filled with a soft mid-brown silty sand fill.
The ditch, which was 0.68m wide and up to 0.6m deep, is very likely to be modern in origin. The ditch extended 1.5m north to south within the area of excavation.
