Ballycarrigeen Lower 4 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was situated in pasture.

The excavation has revealed evidence of a relatively sterile pit. The pit was oval, measured 1.8m by 1.3m and was 0.4m deep. The feature was orientated east–west and had gently rounded concave sides and a flat base. The pit was filled with brown silt with charcoal flecking. This pit was interpreted as a field-clearance feature, of possible recent date.
