Ballycarrigeen Lower 2 was located on the proposed M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme. The site was situated in reclaimed wetland.
The burnt-stone spread was irregularly shaped and measured approximately 8.4m by 5.3m, with a maximum depth of 0.3m. The spread consisted of one deposit, grey/black silty clay, with frequent amounts of heat-affected stone and charcoal, and moderate amounts of grey ashy silt and mottled natural. It is likely that this deposit accumulated as a result of cleaning out and dumping of trough material. Although no trough was found, it is likely that an associated trough exists, or existed at some stage, somewhere in the vicinity of the spread.
