Test-trenching was carried out at the site of a proposed residential development at Coill na Carraige (Kilnacarriga), Lismore, Co. Waterford, in July 2010. Testing was requested as the proposed dwelling was located approximately 20m to the south of ‘Kilnacarriga Castle’, WA029–028. This was undertaken using a 13-tonne excavator equipped with a flat, toothless bucket. Three trenches were excavated within the area of proposed development. No features or deposits of archaeological potential were identified during the programme of testing.
