Three trenches (each measuring roughly 15m in length by 2m in width) were mechanically excavated at this site in advance of development. The proposed development is in the vicinity of a 17th-century castle as well as the remains of a Bronze Age stone circle. The trenches were excavated to the surface of the natural subsoil, with nothing of archaeological significance being noted in any of them.
