Testing was carried out in advance of footpath construction and underlying service trenches excavation immediately east of a well-preserved ringfort, SL016–022. These services are linked to construction nearby of a two-storey dwelling-house. A small bank and stone wall are located along the road boundary; this would appear to be a later boundary along the road and is unlikely to be linked to the ringfort. A portion of this low bank was removed during the course of testing. The test-trench was c. 80m north–south x c. 1m in width and was excavated to a depth of 0.8–1.2m to subsoil levels. Testing did not reveal any archaeological finds, features or deposits.
