Test excavations were carried out on the site of proposed development, to the east and south of the existing school. The ground to the east of the school was previously disturbed in modern times, probably during the construction of the school building. A series of stone drains cut across the southern end of the site, much of which is currently occupied by playing fields. No finds or features of archaeological significance were identified in any of the trenches.
