Monitoring of works associated with the Carrickmacross sewerage scheme has been ongoing since March 2008 and has resulted in the discovery of very few features or finds. A ditch terminal or possible pit was found on Magheross Road. This was not, however, in the vicinity of Magheross church and graveyard (MO031–035) and there were no diagnostic finds in the fill to date it. A culvert leading on to a vaulted chamber was found at the junction of Mullanarry Road and Parnell Street. This was interpreted as a remnant of an early municipal service. Several walls were found, all of which were post-medieval or modern.
