Seven fields covering 18ha were geophysically surveyed and the anomalies test-trenched, as well as other areas, so that the entire site was also randomly tested. A large burnt spread of stone and charcoal was uncovered but was considered as a dump from elsewhere and not of archaeological interest. The entire area is fairly low-lying and had many old stone-lined field drains, but nothing of archaeological interest was found even after large areas were stripped of their overburden.
