An assessment was carried out at a site in Patrickstown townland, Ballinlough, Kells, Co. Meath, where it is proposed to build a domestic dwelling. Within 300m of the proposed development are ME009–066 (standing stone) and ME009–065 (rock art). Excavation of a series of test-trenches across the footprint of the development was undertaken on 30–31 July 2010. A gridiron pattern of trenches was excavated to determine the nature and extent of any archaeological potential. A mechanical excavator with a toothless bucket was utilised to excavate the trenches. No archaeological deposits were uncovered.
