Monitoring of road-upgrading works was undertaken along an 800m-stretch of the R161 Trim–Navan road in November 2010. Previous investigations carried out during an earlier phase of road works by Deirdre Murphy revealed the presence of burials dating to the 5th–6th centuries ad (Excavations 1997, No. 431, and Excavations 1998, No. 531, 97E0389). No archaeological finds or features were recorded in the current phase of work.
